Nigg 74 Top East Cluster

I was sent to put a root weld on that cluster with I.S. welder. It was nearly an inch gap. The stick welders could not manage that. I believe such roots are bad engineering but Dougie the foreman said, as he always did if there was any doubt, "Horse On."

I have an idea that the wrong year is on quite a lot of the Robert Young 1974 pictures. Highland one was much more massive than the later ones. My slides must be the right date as I was only there for Highland 1. I went back to the croft after that. Ask Willie Mackintosh of Evanton the ex Wool Grader. Or Dougie Kelly.
